Enhanced Testimonial Slider
A testimonial slider with one slide per quote, each carrying an image, a headshot, the quote and the person's name and title. Six transition effects, optional autoplay, and colour control over arrows and dots.
Install it
- Buy and install from the Enhanced Testimonial Slider listing.
- In the page editor, drag Enhanced Testimonial Slider into your layout.
Add your testimonials
Slide is a repeating group. Click Add for each testimonial.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Image | The large image beside the quote. Add alt text describing what it shows. |
| Person, Rich text | The quote itself. |
| Person, Headshot | The person's photo. |
| Person, Title | Their name and role, for example Dr. Jack Pearson, Clinical Director. |
Keep the quotes roughly the same length. A slider sizes itself to its slides, so one very long quote makes every slide as tall as that one.
Behaviour
Display / Hide
- Dots: the position indicators under the slider. On by default.
- Arrows: the previous and next controls. On by default.
Leave at least one of the two on, so a visitor using a keyboard or a mouse has a way to move between slides.
Autoplay
- Activated is off by default.
- Autoplay in seconds is how long each slide holds. Five seconds or more is comfortable; anything under four is hard to read.
- Disable on Interaction stops autoplay once the visitor takes control. Worth turning on, because a slider that keeps moving under someone who is reading is a common complaint.
Reverse Cols
Swaps the image and text sides. Use it on a second slider further down a page so two sliders do not look identical.
Style it
Effects
The transition between slides: none, fade, cube, coverflow, flip or cards. None and fade are the safe choices for a corporate site; cube, flip and cards are decorative and best used once on a page.
Color Settings
- Background Color sits behind the whole slider.
- Text colours, Content and Content BG Color are the quote text and the panel behind it.
- Arrows and Dots are the controls. Check these against your background: light grey arrows on a white background are effectively invisible.
Common questions
All my slides are as tall as the longest quote.
That is how a slider works. It reserves the height of its tallest slide so the page does not jump. Even out the quote lengths, or trim the longest.
The arrows disappeared.
Check Display / Hide, Arrows, and check the Arrows colour under Styles, Color Settings against your background colour.
Autoplay keeps moving while people are reading.
Turn on Autoplay, Disable on Interaction, and raise Autoplay in seconds.
